This policy explains how Electro Lounge handles information and what members are expected to share. It covers the website, its learning activities, contact form and members’ forum.
Information we use
- Accounts: registration details, display name, email address, membership and profile information support sign-in and member access.
- Learning: answers, attempts, completed questions and level progress are saved to your account so you can resume practice.
- Forum contributions: discussions, replies and uploaded files are associated with their authors and discussions. Other members with access to the forum can see the contributions you share.
- Contact messages: the contact form stores your name, email, selected subject, message and privacy acknowledgement in a website administrator-only inbox to handle your enquiry. These submissions are not published as forum posts or automatically added to a marketing list.
- Technical records: the website and its hosting services may generate access, error and security records. A short-lived, hashed network identifier limits repeated contact submissions without saving the raw address in the contact message.
Cookies and browser storage
WordPress uses cookies for sign-in and account operation. Learning practice uses browser storage for answers awaiting synchronization and session review. Selected forum files are temporarily kept in your browser while a new post is saved and uploaded. Closing or clearing browser storage before uploads finish can interrupt that process.
Files and external services
Member attachments are stored in a private Cloudflare R2 bucket. The website checks discussion access before issuing a short-lived download link. Members with permission to view a discussion can download its attachments; a member-only forum does not make shared files confidential from its other members.
Linked websites, embedded content and any advertising services enabled on the site operate under their own privacy policies. Advertising placements are labelled when shown. The present local website does not serve paid advertising.
Public publishing and linked platforms
Electro Lounge also maintains public articles and an RSS feed through GitHub Pages. Public source articles, source links, prepared text, images and publication records support that service. Publishing uses n8n, GitHub and OpenAI for preparing and checking drafts from public source material. Member attachments and contact messages are not inputs to that public RSS drafting process.
Our public LinkedIn page is a separate platform. Following a page link does not authorize access to your LinkedIn account. Provider policies apply when using their services: GitHub, OpenAI, LinkedIn and Cloudflare.
Keeping and removing information
Account details, progress and contributions remain stored while they support the account and community. Contact messages remain in the administrator inbox until the administrator removes them. Post authors and website administrators can edit or delete posts and remove their attachments through edit mode. Deleting a post moves it to WordPress Trash; removing an attachment deletes its cloud object and its website association.
Independent backups may retain earlier copies until replaced or removed. Website migration backups contain the database and website files; privately stored cloud objects require separate storage management.
Questions and privacy requests
Use Contact Us and select Privacy request to ask about your information, request a correction or request removal. We may need to verify account ownership before acting. Describe your request without sending passwords or secret access keys.
Community and contribution policy
- Be respectful, explain your reasoning and welcome questions from beginners.
- Share only content you own or have permission to distribute. Remove customer names, project identifiers, signatures, personal details and restricted information from files.
- Distinguish real experience from hypothetical examples. Do not fabricate results or present unsupported claims as established facts.
- Support technical claims with observations, calculations, test evidence or reliable references where available.
- Keep advertising relevant and clearly identified. Do not post spam, misleading promotions or another person’s private information.
- Learning diagrams and discussions help interpretation; actual equipment work depends on the approved drawings, procedures and authorization for that installation.
Website administrators may remove content that breaches these rules or restrict accounts that misuse the community.
Changes
This page will be updated when website practices change. The date above identifies the current published version.
Advertising and optional measurement
Paid advertising is currently disabled. Separate optional advertising or external measurement services require appropriate disclosures and consent controls before activation. Our current self-hosted visitor statistics are described below. Google and advertising partners, when enabled, may collect information through cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers for ad delivery, measurement and personalisation, depending on consent and service settings. See how Google uses information on partner sites and our Cookie Policy.
Privacy requests can be submitted through Contact Us. Account ownership may need to be verified. Availability of particular privacy rights and consent requirements depends on the applicable location and law.
Website visitor statistics
We use Independent Analytics, hosted within this WordPress website, to understand which pages are useful and where visits come from. Reports include page views, visits, referring websites, approximate geographic location, and device and browser types. Connection and browser information is processed to derive a pseudonymous visitor identifier and approximate location; the analytics plugin does not store raw IP addresses or set analytics cookies.
These statistics are stored in the website database rather than sent to Google Analytics. Logged-in visits are currently excluded, and the reports are restricted to authorised administrators. Statistics are used to improve the website, not to publish member identities or question answers. Analytics records and their backups are retained until managed or removed by administrators. Contact us with privacy questions or requests.
